ADA WCAG Form (#37)

On April 24, 2024, the Federal Register published the Department of Justice’s final rule updating Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This rule requires state and local government websites and mobile apps to meet accessibility standards, ensuring equal access to government services for people with disabilities. Public entities with populations over 50,000 have two years to comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria, while those with fewer than 50,000 have three years.

What is WCAG 2.1 AA??

WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) are technical standards for web accessibility. WCAG 2.1, published in 2018, builds on WCAG 2.0, adding 12 additional success criteria for Level AA conformance, which includes 50 criteria to ensure a high level of accessibility.
