The Customer is the leading integrated health plan provider in the United States. Founded in 1945, it is a not-for-profit, group practice program headquartered in California. The Customer serves more than 8.6 million members in nine states and the District of Columbia.
The Customer uses Jive’s Social Business Software which delivers popular collaboration tools like blogs, discussions, groups, profiles, connections, dashboards, pools, bookmarks, documents, tags, etc. They also uses MOSS 2007 as their document management system. The Customer wanted to leverage their existing centralized MOSS document management system rather than Jive’s own lightweight document management system. Hence, there was a need to integrate Jive’s collaboration systems with MOSS.
Because of our portal development project as part of the Customer’s business transformation mega-project, AgreeYa was engaged by them to build a Jive-MOSS 2007 connector which would enable collaboration and integration of enterprise content and documents.
Based on the Customer’s requirements and our experience, AgreeYa recommended a Web Services based implementation to address the need for greater collaboration, improved communication, and robust security. Some of the highlights of the solution included:
Providing Jive access to the rich DMS (Document Management System) features of MOSS
Enabling collaboration and integration of enterprise content and documents on MOSS
Integrated search of enterprise content on MOSS from Jive
Ability to upload files, and apply document links to address the need for secure, centralized content storage
Give MOSS administrators a semantically-rich business rule language to help them define what, how, and when MOSS content gets socialized, to protect privacy while enabling powerful socialization at a very granular level—from strictly private to completely public.
